Healthy cookie dough balls recipe (yum!)

Who doesn't love a healthy balls recipe for a quick tasty snack on the go that only takes 7 minutes to make a full batch that lasts you for a week...

And they taste like cookie dough balls.  Delicious, but healthy!

I swiped this recipe from my close friend Danette May, who is an awesome Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, and Figure Competitor, and comes up with tasty and healthy recipes for her whole family to enjoy.

Danette's Healthy Cookie Dough Balls:

Nutritional Information: 2 balls = 3 oz. protein, 1 tbsp fat, 1/4 cup carbs

Makes approximately 25 balls

Preparation time: 7 minutes

* 1 cup almond butter or natural peanut butter (or try both mixed half and half)
* 1/4 cup honey (raw, if you can find it)
* 3 cups dry oatmeal (pulverize dry oats in a blender or coffee grinder first, which helps form a cookie dough texture in the final balls)
* 2-3 scoops vanilla or chocolate whey protein (Chocolate Biotrust protein tastes the best in this mixture!)
* 1/3 cup water

*Optional: For added flavor, you can add 1/2 cup of coconut or dark choc chips or cacoa nibs (70% or higher chocolate chips for less sugar, or straight cocao nibs for the most fiber and almost no sugar at all).

Mix together in a bowl and then roll into 1-inch balls. Eat a couple right away or freeze for an on-the-go treat anytime!

Enjoy 1 or 2 healthy cookie dough balls any time you need a quick snack during the day or for dessert.

Can dairy fat actually PREVENT heart disease?

Most people are under the assumption that dairy fat from butter, cream, full-fat cheeses, etc causes clogged arteries.  Unfortunately, most people don't realize that there were no studies to back up these claims that the government and dieticians have been making for years.  They were solely based on the misguided assumption that saturated fat is bad for you, which scientists have debunked in recent years.

But dairy fat is made up of a LOT more than saturated fat, and researchers are finding that there are even some super-nutrients found in the fat portion of dairy that can help PREVENT artery clogging.  We'll talk about 3 of those specific super-nutrients found in dairy fat in the article below:

Does dairy fat actually PREVENT heart disease? (read on and you'll see!)

Please share this article with any of your friends and family to help them better understand REAL nutrition and enjoy REAL food instead of fat-free processed garbage.

Does splenda damage your gut health?

Splenda®, also known as sucralose, is an artificial, chemical sweetener.  You might eat lots of it without knowing in certain "light" foods, "reduced sugar", or other diet foods.

Despite advertisements stating “Made from Sugar, so it Tastes like Sugar”, which attempt to confuse consumers, Splenda® is not natural and contains no elements of natural sugar.

You may also be surprised to learn that Splenda® contains chlorine. Yes, the same chlorine that goes in swimming pools. And here's the worst side effect:

Just like chlorine kills off micro-organisms in swimming pools, Splenda® and sucralose kill off healthy bacteria that lives in your gut -- healthy bacteria that is VITALLY important to virtually every aspect of your health.

Recently, a study at the University of Duke confirmed this very finding. Not only is sucralose a heavily-processed, chemical artificial sweetener, but it's also damaging to your gut health, which goes on to affect every other aspect of your health.

Here's a direct quote from that study:

"Splenda® suppresses beneficial bacteria and directly affects the expression of the transporter P-gp and cytochrome P-450 isozymes that are known to interfere with the bioavailability of nutrients. Furthermore, these effects occur at Splenda® doses that contain sucralose levels that are approved by the FDA for use in the food supply.”

Did you know that 70-80% of your immune system finds it's home in your gut? In fact, there are more than 100 TRILLION living bacteria in your gut that control many aspects of your health, and due to things like the ingestion of artificial sweeteners like Splenda®, most folks have created a massive bacterial imbalance in their body.

But, it doesn't just stop with the use of Splenda® or other artificial sweeteners.  There are MANY other factors that are contributing to the bacterial imbalances that MILLIONS of folks are silently suffering from all around the world... one of those other aspects is drinking chlorinated water from the tap.  It's best to use a filter to filter out chlorine so you're not harming your gut flora.

Unlike the gut-damaging sucralose mentioned above, let's look at 10 foods that help to restore a healthy bacterial balance in your belly by killing off the bad bacteria while at the same time giving you loads more of the vitally important, beneficial bacteria that is so critical to both your health and fat loss goals.

The TRUTH about yogurt

As you've probably noticed in the last couple of years, probiotics are all the rage as one of THE most important factors that helps control your immune system (an estimated 70% of your immune system resides in your gut), as well as your digestive system health, and over 170 other diseases and health conditions that can be related to the balance of your gut flora.

Most people "think" they get enough health-boosting probiotics from yogurt (the average person eats yogurt almost daily).  Unfortunately, there are some problems with yogurt that you need to be aware of...

Read the full article here for the TRUTH about yogurt.

You'll see in that article how kefir and lassi compare to yogurt (this might surprise you), and you'll also find out why FULL-FAT yogurt could even be the healthiest form to eat instead of all of this 0% fat silliness we see everywhere.

I'll be back soon with more Lean-Body Secrets from your friend, the nutrition investigator.
